Charities Supported
On the 29th March 2011 High Wycombe Round Table held their annual cheque presentation at the High Wycombe Cricket Club. An annual event, where monies raised are distributed by High Wycombe Round Table, a community services and social based club for men aged between 18 and 45. Of the 24 local charities and beneficiaries that High Wycombe Round Table have supported this year Iain Rennie Hospice At Home, Child Bereavement, Kids In Sport, Shop Mobility, Young Deaf Activities, Street Dreams, Penn School, Mayors Appeal, TVACAA and Wycombe Hospital Radio all came to receive their cheque and had a fabulous evening sharing their stories with other local charities. ‘Its so nice to hear what other charities are doing’ said Sally Thurlbeck who works in the autistic department at Penn School. ‘This evenings guests have had a great time and are very grateful to High Wycombe Round Table the monies they have raised throughout the year’. Bruce Kirk, Chairman of High Wycombe Round Table said that ‘It had been a great evening. We have raised £7,482 this year which has been distributed across 24 local charities.’ One of those charities supported was for the Mayors Appeal 2010/2011 ‘Pepper Children’s Nurses.’ The Mayor was there personally to collect her cheque and thanked Round Table for their continued support.
