Cuxhaven, Germany 2011
From the 27th - 29th May 2011, High Wycombe Round Table 155, were joined with the German, French, Dutch and South African round tables in Cuxhaven Germany, for what was a fabulous tabling weekend. After flying to Hamburg on the Friday morning, the High Wycombe tablers and their wife’s took the train from Hamburg to Cuxhaven.
We were met by Carl’s father who took us to Carl’s (A German tabler’s) restaurant for the afternoon. We where then taken to a local shooting club in Cuxhaven where we met our hosts for the weekend. We also met all the other nationalities, the South African’s insisting we drink with the left hand - ‘Don’t Ask!’
On Saturday we visited a ship yard on the north coast of Germany where we went on a ship that was used for scientific exploration in Antarctica. This was followed by a dinner dance in Cuxhaven where we wined and dined until the early hours. The following morning we all met for a farewell brunch in Cuxhaven. A fabulous weekend was had by all!
